Course Information:

Title: Making Quality Work in Higher Education
Dates: Online asynchronously from June 3 to 6, 2021
Location: Online

Who should enroll?
The online course has been designed as a professional development opportunity for those working in roles related to assessment and quality assurance, including, for example, faculty, those working in institutional research, student affairs professionals and anyone with an interest in research and scholarship in related areas, such as accreditation and quality management. As the course is intentionally international in its focus, participants from both outside and inside the U.S. are positively encouraged to enroll.

Course Description
The most pressing questions faced by higher education institutions around the world are related to quality: How do we adapt to remote learning and digitization without compromising quality? How can internationalization diversify and improve institutions? How can we communicate the value of higher education to different audiences? This course provides a practice-oriented, global perspective on higher education quality and its recent developments, including international and remote accreditation and program review processes, and quality assurance of online learning. Students will engage asynchronously, with the option to participate in group drop-in sessions with the instructor.

Certification of Completion
Please note that all participants from outside Boston College will not receive academic credit nor a transcript documenting their participation in this course. However, all participants will be awarded a certificate of completion to share with their employers.

Any questions about this course can be directed to internationalhighered@bc.edu.
